Scratchers, 1835-1855.

The scratchers are a daily record of all of the financial transactions that were recorded before they were transcribed into the deposit or check books. The scratchers can be cross-referenced to the deposit and checkbooks by cross referencing the dates. Included are names of individuals, firms, companies, Branch Banks, or out-of-state banks that are depositing or withdrawing money, the amount deposited or withdrawn, and the amount brought forward. This series is also referred to as blotters and daybooks. The Branch Bank at Huntsville separated its scratchers into two types: a scratcher for general accounts and a scratcher for individual accounts. The same type of information that is recorded in two volumes at the Huntsville Branch Bank, is recorded in one volume at the Montgomery and Mobile Branch Banks. This series is also referred to as blotters or daybooks.

5 volumes.
